This is the current UFO that I'm working on. I used to make a lot of scrappy quilts with blocks like this. Making blocks like this no longer interests me. I have 31 blocks and I need to decide what to do with them. I doubt I will get this project finished this year. I have made a decision about the UFO reduction project. Fall is not a good time for me. I didn't reach my goal. I do much better with my UFO's after the 1st of the year. I'm going to start the count and record over in 2010 and see how well I do. I'm going to try for a reduction of 25 projects in 25 weeks.

another UFO finished!
I've been working on this UFO off and on for a few weeks. It was going to be the valance on a window. It was cut out and ready to be sewn, then I changed my mind about the fabric. When I came across it a few weeks ago, I thought it would make a nice tote bag. It was finished today. It'll get a lot of use. It's the perfect size for short trips in the car.

update
I'm currently working on several UFO's. I've had a little trouble finding the supplies that I need so I ordered them today. It'll take a little time for them to come in. I hope to have something to show in a day or so.

update
I'm currently working on several UFO's & organizing my house. I've been ironing scraps and cutting them up for my future scrap quilts. I've found several UFO's that I want to finish but, I haven't been able to find the fabric that goes with them. I hope to have pictures to post of finished UFO's soon.

1st UFO finished-making progress
I cut the corners out of the totebag for the box bottom and decided to do something with those pieces. I sewed them together and made a pin cushion out of it. This is the finished tote bag and pin cushion. I'm trying to decide what UFO I will try to finish next. My goal is to work on it a bit everyday until it's done.

a Pin Cushion!

July 1st
To start off this effort I'm starting with 3 projects. The 13 blocks below were going to be the start of a bed sized quilt. The center fabric has been misplaced and I'm no longer interested in making a large quilt with these blocks. I'll be making a tote bag with 12 of the blocks and I'm not sure what I'll be doing with the left over block. I plan to work on this project a little each day until it's done. The project below was a block of the month called "Gulf Coast Lighthouses". I've lost interest in it. I'll be posting it on ebay today.

1st post-an explanation
I'm a quilter and I've been at this since I was 17 years old. I've started many projects that I haven't finished. This blog will chronicle my attempt to reduce by UFO's by 25 projects from July 1st to December 31st 2009. It this works for me I may do this again in 2010. My ultimate goal is not to have any UFO's!
Please check back on July 1st and see what I'm up to.
